Giuseppe Tartini s best-known work must be his sonata for violin Devils trill. Now meet the virtually unknown Tartini on these three CD's. Tartini wrote some 200 violin sonatas.
But the opuses 2 and 6 recorded here certainly belong to the less-known part of this output. Especially the opus 2 has been quite neglected by present-day performers. Enrico Casazza performs all six of them in this set. The six sonatas opus 6 are stylistically looking ahead to a new sensibility and the classical sonata.”
